Poroshenko had a meeting with Romanian Senate President

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with the President of the Romanian Senate Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu within his official visit to Romania, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to Poroshenko, Ukraine remembers that the Parliament of Romania was the first to ratify the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
At that time, the Ukrainian President asked the President of the Romanian Senate who had been the Prime Minister of Romania within the course of Romania’s entry into the EU with a request to support the European integration of Ukraine politically and practically. In his turn, the President of the Romanian Senate assured of the willingness of the Romanian side to support Ukraine in that issue.
As to the report, the parties shared views on the current Ukrainian economic reforms.
Poroshenko praised the position of Romania on the necessity of preserving sanctions against Russia because of its aggression. Also, the Ukrainian President informed the President of the Romanian Senate on the deterioration of security situation in Donbas.
As to the report, the parties also discussed the interparliamentary contacts between the two countries.
