30.07.2015 13:11 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The European Union may provide up to EUR75 million in support for civil service reform in Ukraine if the Ukrainian Government and Parliament adopt corresponding documents on time, NRCU says referring to the
Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration Dmitry Shymkiv report.
As to Shymkiv, the EU and Ukraine signed a contract for the development of the state in May 2014, due to which Ukraine can receive EUR105 million (the second tranche of the assistance) already this year if a number of conditions are met. One of them is the development and approval of a full and detailed plan for reforming the public sector, which requires the parliament to adopt a new law on public service.
Shymkiv admits in addition to EUR105 million for the development of the State, Ukraine may get up to EUR75 million in support for the civil service reform. In order to receive these funds, in addition to the civil service law, the Cabinet should develop, approve and submit to the EU the strategy for public administration reform together with its implementation plan, the responsible persons and deadlines.
