Yatseniuk calls on VR to approve Ukrainian Labor Code
20.07.2015 19:12 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of today, while speaking at the board meeting, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has urged the Verkhovna Rada to adopt a jointly accumulated Ukrainian Labor Code, Government Portal reports.
«The coalition should support a jointly accumulated Labour Code, as a labor code is a constitution of labor. How can we create a new labor market while having the Soviet system of employment and Soviet policy employment in general?» he said.
As to the report, the PM also dwelt on the need to meet the problems of the Pension Fund.
As to Yatseniuk, it is not only the issue of the Government reform on reviewing categories and charging systems in the Pension Fund. It is also important to reduce unemployment: «The issue of the Pension Fund is the aging of the population, the increased rate of retirees against working people, a fall in wages and a corresponding drop in contributions to the Pension Fund and a reduction in overall employment.»
So, in order to resolve this issue, Yatseniuk pointed out, a bill on the National Employment Agency should be urgently developed and submitted to the Government; the Prime Minister asked about this the Ukrainian Minister of Social Policy Pavlo Rozenko.
As to the report, Yatseniuk expressed hope that Parliament either at an extraordinary or ordinary session would adopt a corresponding bill along with the Labor Code.
Reportedly, Yatseniuk also urged the Parliament to adopt the legislation targeted at the pension reform further development (in part., bills on introduction of the defined contribution system and on migrant workers’ protection).
