Jan-Feb Ukrainian cheeses sales to Russia down 69%, Russian cheeses sales to Ukraine up 2 times

As to State Statistics Committee 2006 external trade data, this year Jan-Feb Ukrainian cheeses sales to Russian market have fallen to US$11.415 mn (down 69% against US$36.339 mn in last year Jan-Feb) due to RF Jan 20 embargo on Ukrainian animal products shipments.
As to State Statistics Committee, this year Jan-Feb Russian cheeses sales to Ukraine have simultaneously boosted to US$1.68 mn (up 95% as of US$0.85 mn in last year Jan-Feb).
This year Jan-Feb Ukrainian foods export to Russia totaled US$131.6 mn (down against US$169.4 mn in last year similar), while Ukrainian foods import from Russia was US$57.7 mn (up as of US$47.2 mn in last year similar).
It is to be reminded, this year Jan-Feb Ukrainian cheeses output totaled 27,900 MT (down 14.6% against last year Jan-Feb).
2005 Ukrainian full-fat cheeses output had boosted to 271,086 MT, up 48,252 MT
(+ 21.7%) against 2004.
2005 Ukrainian 3 biggest full-fat cheeses producers were companies OJSC Molochnyk (Zhytomyr region), OJSC Svitlovodskiy Butter Integrated Plant (Kirovograd region) and OJSC Shostkynskiy City Dairy Integrated Plant (Sumy region).
