Ukraine asks IMF to combine 3rd and 4th tranches of stand-by loan

Ukraine has asked the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to reconsider the schedule for the allocation of funds under a stand-by loan, combining its third and fourth tranches so as to receive them by the end of this year, NRCU says referring to the Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Shlapak report made in Kyiv on Wednesday.
«We want to combine the third and fourth tranches. We expect that it will be about US$2.2 billion. And we expect to receive them by the end of the year,» Shlapak told.
Besides, Shlapak also said that in what concerns the second tranche of US$1.4 billion (the decision on the the allocation of which is expected in late August), US$1 billion is to be transferred to the state budget and US$400 million to the National Bank of Ukraine.
As to earlier reports, the IMF Executive Board on April 30 had approved a two-year SBA worth SDR10.976 billion (about US$17.01 billion) for Ukraine. Early in May, the IMF transferred the first tranche worth SDR2.058 billion (about US$3.2 billion), with SDR1.29 billion (about US$2 billion) allocated to the Ukrainian government for budget support.
As to report, the IMF Executive Board will consider on August 29 the allocation of the second tranche to Ukraine and Kyiv’s request to change the fulfillment criteria and reconsider the schedule for the allocation of funds under the program.
