Yuriy Boyko hails successful launch of Zenit-2SÁ booster along the Land Start program

On August 31, 2013 at 11:05 p.m Kyiv time Ukrainian Zenit-2SÁ launch carrier, designed by the Pivdenne Design Bureau and produced by the Pivdenny machine-building plant in cooperation with Ukrainian and Russian enterprises, was launched successfully from the Baikonur cosmodrome and led to orbit Israeli Amos-4 communication satellite, Government Portal reports.
«Successful launch of Zenit launch carrier on the Land Start program has become the proof of high professionalism of national designers and producers of space equipment and a result of fruitful cooperation with our Russian and other foreign partners,» Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko stressed.
He expressed belief in further successful realization in Ukraine of space programs and wished success and good launches to all the enterprises involved in the area.
Zenit-2SÁ launch carrier, designed by the Pivdenne Design Bureau and produced by the Pivdennymachine-building plant, is among the most successful in the world. It is environmentally clean and works on non-toxic fuel components (liquid oxygen and kerosene).
Booster unit ÄÌ-SLÁ for the rocket carrier was designed and produced by Russian Rocket Space corporation the Energy.
The space apparatus Amos-4 was created by IAI (Israel) for Israeli operator of space communication Spacecom. Together with other Amos series spacecrafts it will ensure rendering a whole spectrum of satellite communication services on territories of Russia, the Near East and neighboring regions.
Performed on August 31, 2013 launch of the Zenit booster has become the sixth along the Land Start program.
