Prime Minister urged French investors to invest in Ukraine

"There may be good prospects for the development of bilateral economic relations between Ukraine and France because our country has much to offer to interested investors," Mykola Azarov said on June 18 in Paris, during a meeting with leaders of business organization MEDEF International, Mykola Azarov Official Website reports.
Prime Minister stressed that all the government guarantees were granted at a legislative level: «And if French companies have a desire to work and to raise funds for implementation of our projects we will be your reliable partner.» He also noted that in general 800 projects were included into the State programme of economy revitalization.
In addition, the issues of energy sector were discussed at a meeting with a representative of the largest French business. Mykola Azarov reminded that the cost of gas from German company RWE was by $ 100 per thousand cubic meters less than the price of Russian gas. He emphasized that because of the oppressive gas contracts that Yulia Tymoshenko signed, Ukraine annually overpaid the Russian Federation 7 billion US dollars for gas. However, he said that over the last three years the Government had held negotiations upon the revision of the contract dated 2009, but it had not achieved this yet.
«However, we carry out the policy of energy efficiency. We have already increased domestic production by 1.5 billion cubic meters and in the near future we will increase it by another 4 billion,» Head of the Cabinet informed, adding that Ukraine had entered into contracts with the worlds leaders in the production of shale gas and was already beginning exploratory drilling.
