The presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, member states of the Customs Union, approved guidelines for a coordinated agricultural policy for the three nations, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said yesterday, Voice of Russia reports referring to Interfax.
The guidelines were one of a series of documents approved at a Supreme Eurasian Economic Council summit in Astana on Wednesday, Nazarbayev told a briefing.
One of them made changes to the Eurasian Economic Commissions rules on international trade negotiations.
«This document will enable the Customs Union member states to interact closely,» Nazarbayev said. «It will serve to enlarge our range of trading partners.»
The summit also approved plans to create an integrated information system for the Customs Union member states trade with each other and with other nations and to cooperate in making statistical reports.
Chances for the enlargement of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space were considered as a separate issue.
