On March 14-15, President of Latvia makes official visit to Ukraine

14.03.2013 09:24 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — On March 14–15, President of Latvia Andris Bērziņš will make an official visit to Ukraine at the invitation of Viktor Yanukovych. It was stated by Head of Presidential Administration Serhiy Lyovochkin, President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports. In Kyiv, Viktor Yanukovych and Andris Bērziņš will hold bilateral negotiations and participate in Ukrainian-Latvian business-forum. The agenda of negotiations covers the issue of acceleration of bilateral trade-economic interaction, cooperation in transport and energy spheres, broadening of business and cultural-humanitarian ties between the two states. The parties will also discuss European integration of Ukraine, particularly preparations to the signing of the Association Agreement and the possibility of visa regime liberalization for Ukrainian citizens. Serhiy Lyovochkin noted that in the framework of the visit, the signing of bilateral documents was planned, including the Joint Statement of the President of Ukraine and the President of Latvia and the Agreement on Basic Spheres of Cooperation in the Protection of Consumers’ Rights. In the framework of the official visit, the President of Latvia will also visit Odessa region where he will take part in Ukrainian-Latvian business-forum in Odessa and examine the work of Odessa and Illichivsk commercial seaports.
