Experts have bettered 2004 grain crop’s forecasts to 33.8 million tons, up 2%

Ukrainian agrarian market experts have bettered Apr forecasts for 2004 grain output by 2.1% (+ 0.705 million tons), up to 33.84 million tons against Mar 33.135 million tons. Experts estimate sown grains’ state as good and satisfactory, that’s why they forecast yield capacity growth and have bettered total crop’s forecast. As to Agrarika Ltd, this year wheat and barley crops can amount to 1.5 million tons and 9.6 million tons correspondingly. Expert forecast this year grain crop’s growth 67.5% (+13.6 million tons) as of last year. As earlier reported, Mar forecasts for this year grain crop were ~ 33 million tons. As to State Statistics Committee, 2003 grain crop totaled 20.22 million tons, down 18.57 million tons (– 47.87%) as of 2002, with wheat crop sharing ~ 3.6 million tons (against ~ 20.5 million tons in 2002) of total.
