Ukraine has improved its performance and entered the TOP 30 countries in Global Open Data Index ranking. It has been ranked ¹24 against other places in the Index and outran most of the EU countries, Government Portal reports referring to the annual ranking The Global Open Data Index, made by an international non-profit organisation Open Knowledge International.
It is to be admitted, the survey is designed to assess the openness of specific government datasets (up to the Open Definition within 16 different areas including government budget, spending and procurement, access to information about land ownership, election results at all levels and national statistics).
As to the survey, the most positive assessment Ukraine has got for the openness of the State budget and access to national registries. Besides, the research team has also accessed the openness of statistical data, procurement, national legislation and Government spending. However, the data on land ownership and information about the natural environment have been estimated as the least publicly available.
As to the ranking, close to Ukraine are Germany, Hong Kong and Austria.
