PM: Since the start of year in Ukraine over 50 thousand startups have been registered

As of today, while on a working trip to the Kharkiv region, and while speaking at PJSC «FED» in Kharkiv, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman has said since early this year there have been registered in Ukraine over 50 thousand new entrepreneurs, Government Portal reports.
«We can see today quite a positive dynamics in the first two months regarding payment of the minimum wage, a 16% decline of the unemployment rate and a 47% boost in number of vacancies opened in Ukraine. In particular, we have a record of 27 thousand economically active entrepreneurs, up to the Jan data. Within 21 days of Feb there is a growth by 27 thousand entrepreneurs. The economy is growing, this means that we have laid rather good basis,» the Prime Minister stressed.
As to Groisman, 91% of those businesses that terminated their activities after the minimum wage boost, had not been engaged in any economic activity and had not been paying taxes.
Besides, the PM also admitted that Ukrainian economy within 2016 Q4 had showed a fairly good signal of growth at 4.7%.
«This means that Ukraine will produce more goods, number of jobs will grow, wages will improve and the economy will both produce the national product and strengthen our economic and financial independence. This is the only way to bring the country out of the crisis,» Groisman summed up.
