The Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk urged Ukrainian producers to make quick and concrete solutions in connection with the opening of the EU market for Ukrainian goods, Government Portal reports referring to the Prime Minister’s statement made during a meeting with representatives of business Thursday, April 17.
The Prime Minister said that the aim of the meeting of government officials with business representatives so that the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, relevant ministries and European partners told «what steps Ukrainian producers should do to export products to European markets from the second decade of this month.»
Arseniy Yatsenyuk recalled that the EU unilaterally opened its market for Ukraine and virtually applied all trade preferences under the Agreement with the EU: «We always intended to diversify our markets and receive the possibility to supply Ukrainian products to EU Member States. Now we have this possibility not only political, but also legal.»
Thus, the Head of the Government noted, Ukraine has not opened its markets and has retained all the protective measures in relation to the supplies of European goods to our country.

Yatsenyuk urged government officials and business representatives to conduct broad consultations in regions. He emphasized that clear instructions should be given in the regions: «where to go, what to do in order to sell Ukrainian products to the EU. The maximum number of companies that can supply products should be immediately involved.»
He also stressed that Russia despite the presence of all bilateral agreements is closing its markets for Ukraine for a long time: «We will defend our right to free trade with all countries, including the legal right that we have with the Russian Federation. And this right will be defended by all means, including through the World Trade Organization.»
