Kozhara: Ukraine is committed to OSCE

Foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara presented priorities of the Ukraine’s Chairmanship of the OSCE to the Permanent Council in Vienna, ForUm reports.
At today’s meeting of the Permanent Council of the OSCE, Ukrainian minister delivered a speech in which, in particular, noted that during its presidency Ukraine will try to promote trust and reconciliation.
«Ukraine is committed to the OSCE and its concept of comprehensive and indivisible security,» he said.
Kozhara noted that implementation of the Helsinki + 40 process, settlement of frozen conflicts and support for democratic development is among the priorities of Ukrainian chairmanship.
Speaking on the settlement of frozen conflicts, Kozhara recalled that he plans to visit Moldova in the status of the OSCE chairman already in the next week.
«Help in finding political solutions should be among the biggest priorities for the OSCE,» Kozhara said.
In this regard, he also called for a constructive cooperation during the Geneva negotiations on the conflict in Georgia and noted the need to continue searching for solutions to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The minister also said that Ukraine will support the activities of the OSCE, the promotion of democracy and human rights, including the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.
Kozhara paid special attention to the issue of the Organization’s budget, and urged Member States to constructive cooperation in this matter.
