In 2013, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Conservation expect to receive about 2 milliard kilowatt hour of electric energy from renewable sources, the Ukrainian State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation Chairman Myckola Pashkevych told Ukrainian Cabinet briefing on Dec 14, Government Portal reports.
As to him, new 300 MW solar energy facilities and 300 MW wind energy facilities are to be launched in Ukraine within next year.
Thus, Pashkevych expects by end 2013 electric energy amount from Ukrainian renewable sources will exceed 2 milliard kWh.
It is to be admitted, now Ukraine produces in total 180 milliard kWh electricity.
Pashkevych is certain Ukrainian energy output growth, despite all odds, is now high and is comparable with Germany’s similar (achieved after Germany having had adopted Green Tariff Law).
However, State Agency Chairman said there is still much to be done.
As to him, 11% of Ukrainian energy balance is to be assured by energy renewable sources by 2020.
«Now we have only 5.5% including hydroelectric power stations. But Im sure by 2020 Ukraine is able to achieve its goals and fulfill its obligations to the EU,» Pashkevych recapitulated.
