Ukrainian agrarians have sown winter crops at 91% of the planned area

This year’s sowing campaign is in its final stage, Government Portal reports. As of October 18, domestic agrarian producers sow by winter crops 91% of predicted sown areas that is 7.4 million hectares. So, winter wheat has been sown at 6.3 million hectares or 95% of the forecast, rye - 301 hectares, that is 98% of the predicted area. This was told by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
«This year, due to favorable weather conditions, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food advised to continue sowing period as long as 10 days. As of October 18 winter crops sown on 91% of the projected sown areas that is 7.4 million hectares. Winter wheat is sown on 6.3 million hectares or 95% of the forecast, rye - on 301,000 hectares, representing 98% of the projected area. Continued sowing of winter barley, which is planted 802 hectares or 66% of the forecast,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk informed.
According to the Minister, the winter corps is in good shape compared to last year. He noted that, according to the monitoring of winter crops, rates climbing cereals are high.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk reminded that farmers are provided with seeds at 101% of the need, and 112% of total seeds had been brought into necessary condition. Also he added that Ukrainian agricultural companies had amassed almost 641 thousand tons of fertilizer nutrients, what is 100% of their applications.
