Transition of domestic CHP from gas to coal would annually save up to USD 4 billion

05.09.2012 09:16 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — This opinion was expressed by MP of the Party of Regions, head of the Trade Union of Coal Industry workers of Ukraine Viktor Turmanov. As he said, now Ukraine overpays for gas about USD 6 billion, NRCU correspondent reports. According to the decision of the Government, all power plants will soon be tranferred to coal. Victor Turmanov believes «black gold» reserves in Ukraine are enough for four hundred years. According to the Ministry of Energy and Coal industry , mining companies in Ukraine for eight months of this year increased coal production by almost 3 million tons compared to the same period of last year. Its total production reached fifty seven million tons.
