UN and humanitarian aid organizations launched the global campaign to shine a spotlight on humanitarian work and encourage people around the world to get involved by doing something good for others.
Already over 100 million people are aware of the campaign which was launched in a breathtaking live performance by pop star Beyoncé at the United Nations on Friday night.
She sang «I Was Here» to more than 1,200 fans in the United Nations General Assembly Hall.
The video has already attracted the attention of over 100 million people.
With the spirit of «people helping people,» it is hoped that the goal of one billion will be reached as the song officially premiers on 19 August, World Humanitarian Day.
