Ukraine ranks 15th in the Olympic medal standings

31.07.2012 10:21 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — After four days of Olympic Games 2012 in London, the Ukrainian team takes 15th place in the medal standings of the competitions having won one gold and two bronze medals. Elena Kostevych won the first prize for our country getting a bronze medal in air pistol shooting from a distance of ten meters. Yesterday two more awards were added to the Ukrainian team collection. The lifter Yulia Kalyna won the bronze medal in the 58kg weight category, and the fencer Yana Shemyakina became the Olympic champion in the epee competition. The team from China tops the medal standings having won 17 medals, including nine gold, five silver and three bronze medals. The USA team takes the second place with 17 awards, but only five of them have a high esteem. The French team is on the third place, thanks to the success of its swimmers, having won seven medals, three of them - gold.
