The programme of irrigation of lands will be implemented in all regions

20.07.2012 10:04 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Irrigation programme is a long-term programme for the Government and it will be implemented in all regions. It was declared yesterday by Mykola Azarov during his working trip to Kherson region. In particular, Prime Minister visited a pumping station of the Main Directorate of Kahovsky long-distance channel, where he got acquainted with its work, as well as prospects for the use and development of the station facilities to meet the needs of agricultural producers in the south of Ukraine. "Our task is water supply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This problem exists in Kherson region and it will be solved. The money will be allocated for this, "- said Head of the Government. He also recalled that at recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers the problem of water supply and irrigation system development in Ukraine had been discussed. "This trip was planned long ago to see how the programme of rehabilitation of irrigated land is being implemented at the local level. This is especially true with regard to significant climate changes ", — Mykola Azarov said In particular, Prime Minister noted a high efficiency of the use of irrigation systems: «We have seen that in very poor conditions we can get a good crop.» Source: Government portal.
