Medvedev: Ukraine and Russia had 'candid' dialogue
29.06.2012 10:22 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Representatives of the Ukrainian and Russian governments have «candidly» discussed relations between the two states at the ninth meeting of the committee on economic cooperation of the Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced this after the meeting on Wednesday. «The conversation was direct, very candid. Nobody was ashamed of problems, and they talked about what they had to talk about current problems,» he said. The Russian prime minister also expressed regret that the commission last time met about a year ago. «According to rules, this commission should meet twice a year,» he said. Medvedev noted that there would no longer be «breaks» of this kind and that the next meeting would be held in Russia in the second half of the year. As part of the commissions meeting, the sides signed three documents concerning further cooperation between Ukraine and Russia, in particular, the program of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in research and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes for 20122016.
