23.05.2012 10:23 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine is interested in continuing cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in particular, through the resumption of a Stand-By Arrangement, First Deputy Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovsky said on Monday in Kyiv at a meeting with an IMF mission headed by Chris Jarvis.
«Speaking about the development of relations between Ukraine and IMF, the First Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the sides should move through economic cooperation, in particular, the resumption of a Stand-By Arrangement,» Khoroshkovskys press office said. During the discussion of domestic economic situation in Ukraine, the first deputy premier focused on the stability of national currency, the normal functioning of the banking system and the improvement of fiscal policy. According to him, Ukraine will initiate an increase in energy tariffs for households only after developing a program of targeted assistance to vulnerable people and applying energy saving technology. «First we will develop the use of renewable energy technology, develop a system of targeted social assistance, and then we will come to the issue of raising tariffs to economically sound levels,» Khoroshkovsky underscored.
