The milk production has been increased in Ukraine

04.05.2012 11:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Following the results of the first quarter, 19 regions of Ukraine have increased milk production. Thus, total deliveries of milk to processing plants have been increased by 10%, from the farms — 19%.This was informed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk during a briefing in the Cabinet yesterday, May 3. «Following the first quarter in 19 regions of the country, milk production of all categories of farms has been increased, and by farms — in all areas without exception. Milk production in the first quarter of this year has been increased by 64 thousand tons or 3.2%, and is 2 million tons,» said the Minister. In addition, total deliveries of milk to processing enterprises have been increased. «To the processing enterprises in the reporting period, 958 thousand tons of milk have been received — and this is overall growth by almost 10%, and from the farms — 509.7 thousand tons, representing an increase by 19% and 52.6% of the total volume of dairy raw materials that come for processing. This suggests that today marketability of milk is increasing and shows positive results,» said MykolaPrysyazhnyuk. The Minister informed that the general figures of breeding in recent years remain stable, however, currently there is a work to stabilize and increase production.
