Ukraine, Switzerland sign Memorandum on cooperation in agrarian sector

The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs signed a Memorandum of mutual understanding on the Program of bipartite cooperation in the agriculture and an agreement on realization of this Memorandum.
«The signature of both documents will promote development of mutually beneficial scientific-technical cooperation in the agriculture sector, in particular, in the sphere of application of sanitary and phytosanitary measures and raising ecological efficiency of using pesticides,» information of the Ukrainian ministry notes. Signatures under the document were put by First Deputy Agrarian Minister Mykola Bezugly and Ambassador Luzius Wasescha, Representative of Switzerland to the WTO and Delegate of the Federal Council for Trade Agreements. The memorandum was prepared by results of agreements, reached in the context of concluding the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the states of the European Free Trade Association, reached on June 24, 2010 in the city of Reykjavik, Island.
