No sharp hryvnia fluctuations forecasted this year and next year
22.08.2011 11:08 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Such a forecast was made by Valeriy Lytvytsky, the head of the group of advisers to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) governor. The forecast for the average annual hryvnia exchange rate at UAH 7.95/USD 1, which is envisaged in the state budget for 2011, is realistic, he said.
Because there are no fundamental grounds for sharp hryvnia fluctuations this year and next year, the expert added. «There could be situational fluctuations caused by psychological or other accidental reasons. We see no reason that they could exceed the amplitude of 2.5%, but even if that happens, the National Bank of Ukraine will respond to such fluctuations by all possible means such as monetary and exchange rate policy and other policies,» he said.
