Ministry of Agricultural Policy together with Tax Administration created spirit plants’ excise warehouses

07.07.2004 09:09 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ministry of Agricultural Policy and State Tax Administration have created excise warehouses at State owned spirit plants, reported Ivan Zholner, Head of State owned concern Ukrspyrt. As to I.Zholner, new warehouses are created on basis of spirit reservoirs present at each plant.

As earlier reported, Cabinet’s decree ¹ 321 from 26.05.2004 has ordered creating excise warehouses at domestic spirit plants until 01.07.2004 in order to assure control of spirit trade turnover. In Apr 2004 Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma proposed to Verkhovna Rada to introduce excise warehouses’ system targeted at spirit storing as well as struggle against shadow spirit market. Now in Ukraine there are 84 State owned spirit plants, with total spirit output annual capacity 66 million dl. As to Ukspyrt, by now 82 Ukrainian spirit plants have licenses for spirit output, with 74 plants being Ukspyrt’s property.
