ÂÂÍ has brought into operation new brewery in Kyiv, with yearly output totaling 12 million dl

Scandinavian Company BBH, owner of Slavutych brewery (Zaporizhia) and Company Lviv Brewery, has brought into operation a new brewery in Kyiv with annual output 12 million dl, reported Petro Peretiatko, Slavutych General Director, at a press-conference. As to him, new brewery’s construction project costs totaled ~ EUR50 millions. Besides, BBH has also spent UAH25 million for development of city’s infrastructure in area of factory’s location. Peretiatko admits, this is brewery’s first turn, while, in case of future market’s enlarging as well as demand’s growth, BBH Ukraine is ready to raise up significantly new brewery’s capacity. Peretiatko said, after new brewery’s having been brought into action, BBH Ukraine’s capacities have grown up, making it possible for BBH Ukraine to augment its market share from 20% to 23% till end this season. He added, that two beer brands: Arsenal as well as new Arsenal Kiyivske Firmove, are planned to be bottled at newly opened brewery. As earlier reported, BBH Ukraine is division of BBH Company (joint venture of Carlsberg Breweries and Hartwall, Finland). BBH Ukraine owns beer and nonalcoholic drinks’ integrated plant Slavutych (Zaporizhia) as well as Lviv Brewery Company. Early this year BBH Ukraine has sold its Slavuta malt plant to Soufflet Group. BBH, owning numerous divisions in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine, is now listed among 10 biggest European beer producers. BBH’s beer selling market capacity (as to 2003 results) totals 160 million dl.
