Lytvyn urges to observe efficient Laws regulating agricultural sphere relations
02.06.2009 17:35 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
While on Zaporizhia region working trip, VR Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn spoke on necessity to assure execution of presently valid Laws regulating country agrarian sphere relations/prompting rural areas social development, reported VR press-service. Lytvyn admitted it is now necessary to reject practice of adopting Laws “depending just on current situation, especially if it is clear that these Laws won’t be observed.” VR Chairman reminded Ukraine now already has valid Law on rural areas social development stipulating that 1% Ukrainian GDP is to be annually allocated for country rural areas social support. “If, however, even 0.5% GDP were directed to rural areas needs, we could reach many things,” declared Lytvyn. While commenting on results of Government meeting (participated by Village Councils Chairmen) on rural areas support/local self-government, Lytvyn said similar meetings should be participated also by President and VR representatives. “As of now, power branches are vehemently competing between themselves; however, we must come to our senses. Similar meetings are to be held with President and VR representatives participation, “ recapitulated VR Chairman.
