Government adopted measures plan to prevent swine flu virus penetration into Ukrainian territory

With its Apr 28/09 Decree, Government has approved measures plan to prevent swine flu spreading among Ukrainian population, reported Government press-service. Measures plan stipulates improving of swine influenza agents circulation/morbidity rates epizootic control system. Government has commissioned several profile Ministries/Departments to improve State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service/State Veterinary Medicine Committee virologic labs material and technical base. Also, plan says it is necessary to examine swine influenza virus biological properties and receive virus samples/isolates which are also to be examined. As to Government decision, virologic labs should be provided with necessary equipment: diagnosticums, sera, culture media, diagnostic test systems, disinfectants, etc.. Also, plan stipulates forming of national/regional material recourses reserves to be used in case of swine flu pandemic/panzootic and necessary transport vehicles provision. Besides, Government obliged State Customs Service to bring changes into customs declaration form, i.e. to establish obligatory declaration of animal/vegetable products for citizens entering Ukraine. Also, Government prohibited importing living pigs/meat products to Ukraine from countries wherein cases of pigs having had fallen ill with swine influenza were registered.
