Ukrspyrt forecasts 2004 spirit output remaining 25-26 million dl

State owned concern Ukrspyrt, uniting all Ukrainian spirit plants, believes 2004 spirit output will remain 2526 million dl, as of 2003, reported Ukrspyrt’s representative. As to Yevgheniy Lavrov, Head of State Foodstuffs Department, spirit output is to be stable, due to equivalency of domestic hard alcohol market’s supply and demand, with no significant 2004 spirit export to be expected. As to States Statistics Committee, 2003 spirit output totaled 25.6 million dl, down 2.793 million dl (-9.85%) against 2002. Now in Ukraine there are 84 State owned spirit plants, with total annual spirit output capacity 66 million dl. As to Ukspyrt, by now 82 Ukrainian spirit plants have licenses for spirit output, with 74 plants being Ukspyrt’s property. Ukrainian alcohol market’s capacity is estimated 3035 million dl yearly, with shadow market sharing ~ 4060% of total.
