Government, bankers agreed to support agrarians

Government and National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) have elaborated measures to support country agrarians within global grains market prices stabilization period, reported Premier Yuliya Tymoshenko on agrarians/banking establishments meeting. As to Tymoshenko, Government is ready to finance interest rates cheapening for prolonged credits granted to agricultural companies. As to her, Government has already held corresponding talks with country banking system representatives. Tymoshenko made it known Government will provide additional payments to all banks which will prolong agricultural companies credits (Government will allocate in total ≈ UAH700 mn for banks additional payments). “Government will be a reliable partner, – we will pay for this interest rates cheapening to let banks perform agrarians credits cheapening until Jun 01/09 up to initially fixed credits interest rates,” declared Premier. Besides, Tymoshenko also said Government had asked NBU to support those commercial banks which will prolong agrarians credits. Also, Premier declared Government plans to adopt on its next meeting decision on grains export procedures simplification.
