Cuba has reduced the requirement to Ukraine concerning the quota of raw sugar for the membership in WTO

Cuba has reduced the requirement to Ukraine concerning the granting of the quota of raw sugar to it within the framework of the entrance of Ukraine in World Trade Organization. The requirement was reduced from 140 Ths.MT (or 70% of estimated quota of 200 Ths.MT) down to 50 Ths.MT. According to the words of the chairman of the State department of the foodstuffs Uriya Zhyhareva, during the consideration of the application of Ukraine for the membership in WTO the countries-members of the workgroup Australia, Brasil, Cuba, India, Argentina have presented the requirement concerning introduction of the annually quota of import of 200-260 Ths.MT of raw sugar in Ukraine with payment of the duty 2 % and consequent increase of the quota up to 350 Ths.MT. Simultaneously Cuba required from Ukraine to grant 70 % of the quota to it, which will be established after the entrance of Ukraine in WTO, or to introduce for it a separate quota at the rate of 250 Ths.MT of raw sugar annually.
