Melnyk named Government measures on stockbreeding development

Ukrainian 2008 stockbreeding development program stipulates stockbreeding should be granted over UAH1.5 milliard direct budgetary allocations, reported Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Melnyk on today press-conference. As to Melnyk, significant share of finances allocated for agrarians credits interest rates cheapening will be also directed for stockbreeding development. “Today we have started elaborating 2 State-run working projects targeted at stockbreeding/plant growing development conditions creation; these projects stipulate maximal reimbursement of stockbreeding development credits interest rates. Besides, projects also stipulate attracting of leasing programs which are possible to work for stockbreeding: thus, Ukragroleasing may supply pedigree animals and ship equipment/machinery intended exclusively for stockbreeding,” declared Minister. Melnyk also said now work is underway to assure granting of direct budgetary allocations to companies focused on big projects in cattle breeding (one of country most problematic agricultural industries) and pigs breeding, with companies expenses for stockbreeding farms construction/equipping to be partially compensated. These proposals, said Melnyk, have already been presented as draft Laws and subsequently submitted for Verkhovna Rada consideration. “We hope all these measures, when used combined, will improve stockbreeding situation through creating advantageous conditions for this industry investing,” recapitulated Minister.
