Experts forecast 2008 beer prices 35% boost

While speaking on press-conference this year May 27, Galyna Korenkova, General Director of Ukrainian Breweries Association CJSC Ukrpyvo, has forecasted beer prices will rise by 35% within 2008 due to resources/power sources cost substantial boost. Petro Chernyshov, BBH-Ukraine General Director, has confirmed beer prices growth forecast. “Prices growth may reach 20%-30%,” declared Chernyshov. He made it known BBH-Ukraine had grown its ready products sale prices averagely by 8% within this year first quarter despite resources cost having had boosted by “tens of times”. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, experts estimate Ukrainian 2008 beer output will reach 360 mn dl (if beer excise duties aren’t raised to UAH0,31 per liter). As to Agro Perspective, Cabinet took decision to introduce new type of alcohol/tobacco industries excise stamps; 1 alcohol products excise stamp cost is UAH0,104 (tobacco products – UAH0,054).
