New brewery to open in Kyiv

Russian company Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH) is going to open a new brewery in Kyiv Jun this year. As to BBH, it has invested into new brewery EUR50 million. Brewery’s construction was started a year ago, necessary equipment’s installing is already finished, by now its adjustment is going on. After new brewery’s starting its output is to total 12 million hl beer annually. BBH, presently producing 18% Ukrainian beer, hopes new factory will help expanding its presence in this market considerably. Russian Baltic Beverages Holding, a Carlsberg and Scottish and Newcastle joint venture, presently owns two breweries in Ukraine, ten in Russia. Company functions in Kazakhstan and Baltic countries as well. Baltic Beveràge Holding owns 74.24% shares of OJSC Brewing Company Baltika (producer of well-known Baltika beer brand).
