Cabinet cancelled feed grains export quoting
22.02.2007 09:00 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Cabinet has abolished feed grains export quotas, reported Viktor Slauta, Ukrainian Agrarian-Industrial Complex Vice-Premier. Slauta said food grains quoting abolishment so far remains problematic. While speaking on internet conference (held Feb 21 on LIGABusinessInform website), Volodymyr Klymenko, Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) President, declared food/feed grains quoting abolishment would positively impact Ukrainian grains market stability. Klymenko said if quotes are removed country ports would be discharged, grains circulation would restart and agricultural producers would receive financial means necessary for spring sowing. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Feb 5 Yuriy Melnyk, Minister of Agrarian Policy, proposed to release for export grains accumulated on country ports elevators. As to Agro Perspective, Cabinet established grains export quotas to be efficient until this MY (Jul/06-Jun/07) end.
