Export prices for milling wheat again fell slightly

Purchasing prices for wheat from exporters and processors over the past reporting week remained more or less stable. Although, in general, the market is under pressure from the upcoming harvest of the new crop. Demand for wheat from Ukraine continues to decline due to the upcoming harvest and the availability of stocks of old grain from farmers. Purchase prices for corn have not changed, although there is a downward trend. Feed barley prices dropped significantly amid a harvesting campaign in Ukraine and insufficient demand. The Ukrainian wheat market remained without significant price changes. Demand for Ukrainian wheat among European buyers remains, especially for the second class. Western European millers continue to maintain a fairly good demand for high-quality wheat, but at the same time, Ukrainian farmers are not ready to sell stocks of the old crop at current prices in the hope of rising prices. Export prices for milling wheat again fell slightly (by about USD5/t). The decrease took place against the background of the start of the harvesting campaign in the northern hemisphere and the weakening of quotations on global exchanges. The Ukrainian corn market is still under pressure from low demand, especially on a spot basis. It is possible to sell goods in the direction of the port in Bulgaria and Romania only by road or with shipment in September by rail. The activity of Polish buyers also continues to gradually decline. During the reporting week, export prices for corn in Ukrainian ports and at the border continued to decline. The estimated level of export prices for fodder barley of the new crop in Ukraine is USD225–240/t, DAP, border. It should be noted that prices continue to decline against the backdrop of the start of the harvesting campaign. A number of buyers offer prices of 160–180 USD/t with delivery to the ports of Reni. Izmail or UAH5000–5500/t. Given the high cost of road transport to these ports, farmers are left without income.
