USDA: China sugar output to be just 1% up
10.05.2019 23:27 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As to the USDA experts’ forecast, the Chinese 2019/20 MY domestic total sugar output is expected to boost to 10.7 million tons (just about 1%) due to domestic market sugar low sale prices and owing to agricultural soils’ deficit, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the USDA report.
As to the experts, the Chinese 2019/20 MY total sugar output will face a boost, though small, thanks to the domestic sugar beets’ output rise (esp. within Inner Mongolia, the leading sugar beets’ growing province). So, the Chinese sugar (out of sugar beets) output will rise to 1.5 million tons, up against 2018/190 MY 1.4 million tons.
However, at same time, the USDA experts affirm that the Chinese cane sugar output will remain unchanged (9.3 million tons) since the country cane sugar sown areas are enlarging within Guangxi province, but simultaneously reducing within Guangdong and Hainan provinces.
As to the experts, the Chinese 2019/20 MY sugar import will remain unchanged (4.3 million tons) against 2018/19 MY; besides, the experts say the Chinese 2019/20 MY domestic sugar transitive reserves will decline to 4.5 million tons, down almost 1 million tons against 2018/19 MY.
