Ukraine to receive cattle spongiform encephalopathy internationally recognized status

As of this year early Apr, Ukrainian authorized laboratories have already made 5,800 analyses on cattle spongiform encephalopathy, Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection says referring to Service Deputy Head Olga Shevchenko report made within a last week meeting with the domestic business representatives.
As to her, no case of cattle spongiform encephalopathy has been found within Ukraine.
Shevchenko admitted analyzing has been carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Program to determine the status of Ukraine as a country with a controlled risk of cattle spongiform encephalopathy. It is to be admitted, the Program has been introduced within Ukraine since Apr 2017. The Program is aimed to implement measures for Ukraine to get a status of a country with controlled risk of cattle spongiform encephalopathy (up to the classification of the World Organization for Animal Health) - what will enable the Ukrainian agrarians to expand their live cattle and beef export sale markets’ geography.
