In meanwhile, WFP senior Spokesperson Hervé Verhoosel admits the storage facility, though somewhat damaged within the war hostilities and the fire, is upon whole intact. «We have already made the first estimation of the wheat state, but, most likely, additional technical expertise will be required,» he said.
As to him, it is so far unclear whether the wheat is be possible to be distributed among the inhabitants of Yemen, who are experiencing the largest humanitarian crisis within the world. The wheat samples have been sent for analysis. «If experts recognize the wheat as fit for human consumption, we will start processing it at the flour mill within Hodeide,» he told.
As to him, there are also 30,000 liters of diesel fuel remaining at the storage facility in a good state.
