Global 2019/2020 MY sugar deficit to reach 1.36 million tons

The global sugar market is going to face a deficit of 1.36 million tonnes within 2019/2020 MY, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers reports referring to the Green Pool agency 2019/2020 MY forecast.
As to the report, Green Pool has also declined its 2019/2020 MY forecast for the global sugar surplus to 2.64 mn tons (down against previous 3.6 mn tons).
It is to be reminded, as of 2017/2018 MY, the global sugar surplus amounted to 19.6 million tons.
«The global 2017/2018 MY sugar surplus was so great that it was necessary to do something quickly about it,» Green Pool admits.
In meanwhile, Green Pool explains its 2019/2020 MY global market sugar deficit expectancy mainly with the Thailand, Pakistan and India sugar output probable reduction.
