Ukrainian 2018 Nov confectionery/chocolate products import up to 3,600 tons

As of Nov 2018, Ukraine boosted confectionery/chocolate products import to 3,600 tons, up 164% of the Ukrainian annual average import, UNIAN says referring to the Ukrainian Food Export Board report.
«As to the Ukrainian State Customs Service, Nov 2018 was marked as a month of a record high import of confectionery/chocolate products - 3,600 tons. It is to be admitted, the 2018 average volume of the confectionery/chocolate products’ import was just 2,200 tons - what means that the growth has reached 164%,» the report reads.
As to the report, despite the fact that the assortment and quality of the Ukrainian confectionery/chocolate products is striking, with the Ukrainian products being actively exported, the growth of import does not stop either.
«The demand for the confectionery/chocolate products is the highest within the period before the New Year holidays - resulting in Ukrainian import growth within that time,» the report reads.
As to the report, as of Nov 2018, the main lots of confectionery products were imported into Ukraine from Turkey (chocolate products - from EU). As to the report, within Jan-Nov 2018, Ukraine imported in total 24,700 tons chocolate products (US$118. 5 million) and 13,400 tons confectionary products (US$41.4 million).
