Ukraine imposed anti-dumping duties on Belarus salt import shipments

As of this week, the Ukrainian Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (MKMT) imposed anti-dumping duties on the import of table salt and electric incandescent lamps from Belarus to Ukraine, Ukrinform says referring to the Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development report.
«As of this year Jan 25, 2019, the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (MKMT) decided to apply anti-dumping measures to the import of the table boiled-out salt (extra grade) and electric incandescent bulbs from the Republic of Belarus,» the report reads.
As to the report, as of Nov 2017, in response to a complaint from the Russol-Ukraine company, the Interdepartmental Commission decided to start an anti-dumping investigation regarding the import of the table boiled-out salt (extra grade). The investigation cleared out a fact of the table boiled-out salt (extra grade) dumping occurred within its import from Belarus to Ukraine. Finally, the Interdepartmental Commission decided toapply 11.85% anti-dumping duty for exporters from Belarus for 5 years.
At the same time, one of the Belarus salt producers, Mozyrsol OJSC, assumed a voluntary price obligation, proposing to stop the dumping import of its salt shipments to Ukraine by fixing of the minimum export price. So, in its turn, Ukraine recognized the Mozyrsol voluntary price obligation to be satisfactory and decided not to apply final anti-dumping measures to Mozyrsol.
