Ukrainian Jan-Jun domestic wine sales up 12%

27.11.2018 23:07 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of this year Jan-Jun, Ukrainian domestic market grape wines sales have grown to UAH3.23 milliard (up 12% against last year similar) due to imported low-price wines sales’ boost, Ukrinform says referring to General Director of Inkerman Ukraine LLC General Director Anna Gorkun report. «As to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service data, within this year first half, Ukrainian domestic market grape wines sales have risen to UAH3.23 milliard, up 12% against last year similar. It is to be admitted, domestic market wines sales have been growing each year — but, as to the domestic retail networks’ data, domestic market wines’ sales are growing up mainly due to the boost of the imported low-price wines’ sales. It is to be mentioned, Ukraine-made wines’ sales remain unchanged within a few years already,» she said. As to Gorkun, she is glad that the Ukrainian domestic consumers prefer drinking the wines instead of the hard drinks, yet, at same time, she is also affected by the fact that the consumers choose the wines judjing not on their qualitative parameters, but on their price affordability.
