19.10.2018 21:04 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
This year Georgia has harvested a record high grape crop, having sent for processing 230,000 tons, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to Gerorgian Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili report.
«This year, a record amount of grapes has been processed within the entire history of independent Georgia - about 230,000 tons, much up against initially planned,» Davitashvili said.
However, at same time, the Minister hasn’t told how high exactly the new grapes’ crop is.
As to the earlier report, experts had expected this year Georgian grapes’ crop to be 200,000 tons and up (with 150,000 tons’ grapes to be directed for processing).
It is to be reminded, the Georgian last year grapes’ crop was 180,800 tons (processed - about 140,000 tons) meaning that this year the processed grapes’ lots are up 1.6 times against last year similar.
