Polish farmers have lost US$1 milliard due to drought

As of this year, the Polish agrarians have faced US$1 milliard losses due to drought with potato, rapeseeds and sugar beet crops having suffered the worst,
Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the USDA report.
As to the report, this year draught has affected 200,000 Polish farms (having a total area of 3.5 million ha, incl. 1.1 million ha of meadows and pastures). It is to be admitted, at the 570,000 ha (20% of total affected areas) the crops’ loss has exceeded 70%. In money terms, the Polish agrarians have lost in total PLN3.7 milliard ( US$1 milliard).
As to the report, most Polish regions have been affected by the drought within this year Apr-mid Jun. It is to be admitted, the Polish western regions have been affected by the drought until this year Sept.
