Harvesting 2018: agrarians started sunflower harvesting

As of this year Aug 27, Zaporizzhia, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Kherson, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava and Khmelnytskiy regions agrarians have already started sunflower harvesting; agrarians have threshed 91,000 tons sunseeds at 53,000 ha (1% of total planned areas), Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, sunseeds average yield is 17.0 metric centners per ha .
In meanwhile, as of this year Aug 27, Ukrainian agrarians have also threshed 34.3 million tons grains/leguminous crops at 9.9 million ha (67% total planned areas), average yield - 34.6 metric centners per ha.
Thus, in part., agrarians have got 10,000 tons buckwheat at 8,000 ha (8%), average yield - 12.5 metric centners per ha; millet - 10,000 tons at 7,000 ha (13%), average yield - 14.7 metric centners per ha.
Besides, agrarians continued industrial crops harvesting; agrarians have got 16,000 tons soybeans at 7,000 ha (below 1%), average yield - 24.9 metric centners per ha (winter rape - 2.7 million tons at
at 1 million ha (99%), average yield - 26.1 metric centners per ha).
As to the report, grains/leguminous crops biggest gross harvests have been received by Odesa region agrarians (3.6 million tons), Kherson region (2.3 million tons), Dnipropetrovsk region (2.2 million tons), Vinnytsia region (2.2 million tons), Mykolayiv region (2.1 million tons) and Zaporizzhia region (2.0 million tons).
In meanwhile, presently Ukrainian agrarians, beside carrying out their harvesting campaign, are also sowing the winter rape (2019 crop). As of this year Aug 27, winter rape have already been sown at 586,000 ha (66% of total planned 888,000 ha).
