As of Jul 27, Agrarian Fund has acquired 19,000 MT this year crop grain at mortgage prices/granted agrarians UAH9.4 mn budgetary loans, reported Volodymyr Ovchar, Agrarian Fund Chairman. «Fund has already given to agrarians in total UAH9.4 mn loans, without taking into account today’s data, on mortgage of 19,000 MT grain,» declared Ovchar. Ovchar said though applications for total 65,000 MT grain (UAH47 mn) purchases have been submitted to Agrarian Fund, yet Fund has accepted (i.e. given purchase permissions) only for UAH21 mn purchases (without taking into consideration UAH9.4 mn which Fund had already granted to agrarians). Agrarian Fund Chairman made it known presently Fund lacks finances for further loans granting. «We don’t refuse anyone, save for cases when applicants submit incorrectly arranged documents or present poor quality grain. At least, there are no refusals in which Fund is to be blamed, and, as I think, there won’t be any,» admitted Ovchar. As earlier reported, Agrarian Fund had granted to country agrarians in total UAH277 mn budgetary loans (on mortgage of 2005 crop grain 645,000 MT). Agrarian Fund was created by Cabinet on Jun 30, 2005. As of now, Fund functions as Ministry of Agrarian Policy structural subdivision; Fund is executing foods interventions/mortgage purchases.
