Almaty region to produce 60,000 tons its own sugar by 2020

As of now, the Almaty region (Kazakhstan) agriculture is focused upon processing, with a processing good example being served by the regional sugar beet growers, who have set a task of producing 60,000 tons white sugar until 2020, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the Zakon.kz report.
It is to be admitted, the sugar beet growing is one of the Almaty region main agricultural directions; as of this year, the regional agrarians are going to sow the sugar beet at over 11,000 ha - what in turn will boost the Almaty region sugar beet output.
As to the report, the Almaty region budget has allocated KZT1.5 milliard (RUB0.27 milliard) to create new regional service and storage centers for the sugar beet growers and to assure purchasing of the foreign sugar beet seeds. As of this year, 7 service and storage centers have been opened; the centers are provided with over 100 different agricultural machines.
Besides, the Almaty region agrarians have also widened their soybeans, barley, feeds, , safflower and maize sown areas.
