UN Launches Regional Project Against New Animal Disease

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) warns about the possibility of spreading contagious nodular dermatitis in Ukraine, which has been recently registered within the Caucasus and the RF, Ukrinform says referring to the FAO report.
«The emergence of contagious nodular dermatitis (CABG) within the Caucasus and the Russian Federation boosts the likelihood of further spread of this disease to other countries of Eastern Europe. Belarus, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are high-risk countries, therefore, it is necessary to develop and adopt in the shortest possible time. a regional emergency response and preparedness plan,» the report reads.
As to the report, countries within the risk zone usually do not have experience working with transboundary diseases.
